Hey everybody, it's been a minute since I've written to ya and damn, a lot has happened! But first, here's what's coming up:
West coast friends! I'm so excited to play my first major show in Los Angeles on December 8th at the gorgeous Sorting Room at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Please spread the word to your LA friends who you think might enjoy the show. Get your tickets here!
And I can hardly believe we're coming up on our last show of the year at Joe's Pub. Playing monthly at this amazing place for you all has been life-changing. We're ending 2017 on a high note with an epic final show on December 19th, featuring a choir of some of my favorite voices in this city, as well as special guest, the exquisite Darius de Haas. We're pulling out all the stops for this one. Only a couple tickets remain - go make them yours!
Since I wrote you last, I've been pretty gobsmacked to receive some great honors. I won the 2017 Fred Ebb Award and the 2017 Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award. The way the musical theater community supports its next generation is astonishing, and I'm beyond grateful to be a recipient of that generosity.
Also, I made my Carnegie Hall debut, playing with the New York Pops! I can't believe I got to share a stage with heroines of mine including Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. It was just magical. You can check out more photos of the evening here.
And I'm excited to share that I've joined the Womens March Resistance Revival Chorus, a collective of women who come together to sing protest songs in the spirit of collective joy and resistance. We recently sang at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. It was such a rush to perform alongside the heroic organizers of that historic march! When women come together for equality and justice, we're unstoppable and we're only getting louder.
Lots of other exciting news coming up soon, so stay tuned! I'm hard at work over here making more music and theater and I can't wait to share it all with you.
Thank you for supporting and for listening.
As ever,
Shaina
