"The Last Song on Earth" was the first song I wrote for this record, as the election was looming in the bleak fall of 2020. I intended it as a protest song against inaction on climate change, disguised as an apocalyptic party jam. It imagines what musicians might play as the planet burns out, while also acknowledging that we're not there yet - there's still time to change things, if we act now.
